Doesn’t seem like Bully is going to land him a job anytime soon as long as Jon is by his side.
I remember the first job I had. I worked at Captain D’s. That job was a ripoff. I probably got less than 12 hours a week. Make so bad, my mom made me quit since I wasn’t getting paid enough. How was I suppose to learn the value of a dollar if mother dearest is demanding me to quit? The nerve of some parents. Instead of a 2 weeks notice, I gave a 2 hour notice.

Applying for a job has become so abstract, dammit. I’m so envious of my parents—-in their era they could just ask to see the manager or the boss and ask for an interview—actually get a foot in the door. Nowadays NO ONE lets you do that.
I’ve filled out quite a few of those online applications, and/or the ones places like Best Buy have at their kiosks in-store. My….GAWD. Have you ever filled out one of those things? They’re like some warped person’s psychological profile quiz. If you’re not familiar with what I’m talkin’ about, I’ll be glad to provide some comedic exampes. X)
Yeah. Getting a entry level job at a big company, ain’t quite what it used to be.
Heheheh. Not to mention getting paid a ‘check’ by said big companies . . .
For that same reason my dad told me not to look for jobs with my friends.
Amen!
My 1st time commenting here! I’ll be visiting more often!
Welcome, Andony! I hope to see more of you
Applying for jobs is so different nowadays. When I first started job-hunting, you had to show your face to make sure you could get a foot in the door, especially if you had little or no experience.
Now, you’re just an obscure name in a computer file. There’s no way to really stand out because the corporate office goes over the applications and send a list of interviewees to the local office. Your local store doesn’t know about you unless you’re on that list.
It’s hard out here for a pimp now.
Great, timely strip, M!
dude, this strip sooo hits home. I got two getting into the workforce now its weird. I don’t even know how to teach them the stuff we learned coming up cuz it don’t apply. There is no “call them, get in their face” type opportunities anymore. Funny ass strip bro.
Thanks, Chris! Applying online is terrible. Especially jobs who you do get an interview….but they already know who they will hire before you’re interviewed.
